Unpacking!!
“S! The quality of the mattress base is totally eff up!”, that was my first comment when I saw them. The above photos are my comparison between my current bed base, with the new ones. The thickness difference is significant, and so are the material! So, I decided not to use my new base and replace them with my old base..No wonder they are so darn cheap. *sigh*
The installation!
My beloved-trustworthy tools...hehehe…
After half way completing the queen bed, its then only I realize there is this ‘assembly instruction’ included…WTH, I’m half way done, dish the instruction, I’ll do it my way…- or so I thought…
Check out STEP 3. I was wondering what was that about…then I realize, I guess them designers knew the bed base is not that strong which was why they decided to have those supporting blocks installed in place. I wasn’t going to worry about that since I’m planning to replace the base with my old base (Remember? The thicker ones?) – or so I thought…
Tadaaa…!! It doesn’t fit. My old ones is smaller..sigh..so I guess, I have no choice than having the original base and using the step 3, which I proudly laughed about just now...now, I have to eat it *sigh*
The design for the block support wasn’t that good which I complaint over and over during the installation. “One screw holding the block? Definitely it will move!! Pivot point? Duuh! The location to screw them is so close to the edge of it, off coz it will crack. Stupid designers…arghh!!” – and it cracked when I screw them in – just like i thought it would. So, after the installation, I ended up installing additional 25mm L-Bracket to it, with 4 screws attached. Firm and strong…Finally some confidence to the structure. hehehee
Up comes the mattress. Yeaa! Next up, single beds.
